Here lies the sad tale Of a Farmer’s two lonely sons And of a lovely city lady Who brought them undone When she came betrothed to one A new bride, who was meant to be They hoped she’d be A part of the family A part of a family
And so it was, in the beginning They began to see The ‘green eyed’ monster came He gradually crept in Eating up their harmony Feeding off their jealousy Until came that fateful day From a reckless fall they say
He died in this needless way
They buried his soul still On the bare homestead hill (buried alone) She found him out there Still lost in his despair Wearing the blame Carrying the shame
Embracing his grief She offered solace and relief ‘Till their hearts bound as one So it was in the ending A true love had begun
What more is left to say When a young life is lost this way But could it just be The moral of this story If you would only see Two hearts would never divide by three.
