Come Again

(Instrumental Intro)

It was on a Sunday morning
Among a Coterie last Spring
Through the merry din
I turned on just a whim
She was standing at the door
As if the Sun was shining in
And I felt there in my heart
Something stirring deep within

Whatever could it be
Something was happening to me
Standing there inane, I said
‘I hope you’ll come again’
Was it to beguile
She left with just a smile
She quietly slipped away
Haven’t seen her till this day

An unhappy happenstance
Had I lost my chance?
A sad refrain, didn't even....
Didn’t even know her name
Regardless, all the same
I prayed she’d come again
How should I begin
Shouting to the wind

I just shouted, ‘Come again’
Come again, come again
Won’t you please come again
And although I could see her face
She was gone without a trace
There was no trace
Just a memory of her pretty face
Just a memory.
