The Devil Went on a Journey

(Instrumental intro)

The Devil set out on a journey
It was such a lovely day
Set out on a journey
Collecting lost Souls
That had fallen and strewn
Along the long and lonely winding way
I was looking for some action
And I met Him late that day

He asked me ‘Are you going My way?
It’s all there for the taking
I have so many games to play'
Off we went, together
On the Devil’s journey
There were no rules to obey
Seeking sordid pleasure
Sinking deeper all the way
Sinking deeper and deeper and deeper
Each and every step along the way
Too far gone now
So let come what may

With the Devil on His Journey
There is no chance to pray
While all good men do nothing
He’s free to have His sway
And all Society
Simply falls into decay
See all those sad and lonely people
Those who’ve lost their moral mores
All the while forsaking
The old God given laws
What more can I say
So easily led astray

(brief interlude)

But a voice keeps calling
Calling out to me
Calling from deep inside of me
Struggling, struggling to get free
Struggling, struggling
And the Devil out there taunting
Taunting, taunting, taunting
Only heard the Devil taunting.

Taunting, taunting, taunting ...
