No Way Through

What could they do
No one could fly that stormy sky
Yet the call kept coming through
Whatever could they do
Through static they could feel the pain
From a desperate cry, all in vain
They heard the stress, really life or death

No way through
No way through the storm
That violent storm
Everybody knew
There was no way through
Overhead there was ne’er any trace of blue

Everybody knew

Then Fred Baker raised a hand
Someone must fly to lend a hand
With a volunteer crew
I know some how we’ll make it through
And so they rose into the skies
Fearing for their brave young lives
To face whatever darkened Fate
Lay before their eyes

But no one really knew
If they’d live to see it through
No way through
Nothing more they could do
Battered all the way
Battered ‘till the end of day

God only knew
God only knew
Through the last rays found
A lonely beacon marked the ground
And so they touched down
How ever did they safely make it through
God only
Was it only by His Grace
They reached this lonely, desolate place

A miracle, they say
A precious life was saved that day
It was time to pray
For everybody knew
There was no way through.
