BAMBOO BAND

(instrumental intro)

It was a calm and balmy tropic night
Strolling along in the bright moonlight
Carried on the breeze
Pulsing through the trees
The night air was coming to life

A bamboo band was playing
To a beach party playing
Grass skirts erotically swaying
So, I wandered in, passed a whisky or gin
Couldn't tell, spirits in a shell

The bamboo band hypnotically thrumming
From the strange spirits my head humming
Thrumming, thrumming, humming

(brief interlude)

Across the white sand
The gentle breeze was blowing
Impatience in store
The throng began calling
Calling for more

Floating on by
A coy smile caught my eye
Enticed me to join right in
Toe tapping feet, driven by the beat
Moved with a will of their own

Deep in a well
Consumed by her spell
Easy to tell, flying high
All the cares of the world
Floated by
Deep into the night
Far out of sight
All good things
Surely have to end
And the strains of the band faded away

(Instrumental break)

The moon on the sand
We left hand in hand
Still under the spell
Of the bamboo band
Hand in hand
Skipping over the sand
Magically, ecstatically over the sand
For what the band had begun
The night was young.
