Trees for Life

(Instrumental intro)

In this new generation
We are worried by climate change
All the ice caps are melting
And the weather’s acting strange
A cause of this consternation
The Devil is in our fossil fuels
To gain salvation
We are blindly changing the rules.

We know that over the ages
There have been cycles before
Long before man was a factor
Nature managed the score
It wasn’t rocket science
The imbalance to relieve
It was far more simple
The secret lies in the trees.

So what is the problem
If you chose to believe
Too many people on the planet
Chopping down all the trees.

(brief instrumental interlude)

They are Nature’s great recyclers
Using the power of the Sun
Maintaining the climate balance
Long before mankind begun
When we cut down all the forests
What a wicked web we weave
For they suck up all the carbon
And replace the air we breathe

It might not be the solution
But I’m sure over time you’ll see
So instead of protesting
Go out and plant a tree

(brief instrumental interlude)

If managed properly
With use of new technology
Let’s keep the home fires burning
Don’t succumb to ideology
Let’s manage our resources
Keep planting all the trees
Soak up all the carbon
Refresh the air, the air we breathe.

So for future generations
The future to bequeath
While building solar panels
Go out and plant more trees

Should you not want to do it
And if not for humanity
Don’t let me lead you to it
For God’s sake, plant a tree.
