Imagine one sunny morn In days of Camelot A fair maiden, all forlorn In quite a spot She’s sitting by a pond Pining, on a log When up there beside her Hops a frog
What troubles, fair maiden Why in such a state? Tonight, is the gala ball And I have no date I too have troubles I was a gallant Prince Now this has been my Fate Suffered since
Alas, I spurned an ugly crone Oh! She was a ‘dog’ she cast and evil spell And I became a frog. But don’t fret dear lady There’s nothing now to fear With just one kiss A Prince will appear
Your very gallant, handsome Prince Very surely then will appear
She flings her arms around him A smothering embrace The answer to her prayers All in this place It was not a little peck No indeed, not near While in the distance A horse’s hooves rang clear
And there right beside her Was a handsome Prince indeed Where he entreats her Don’t make me plead All my life I’m yearning For such an ardent snog Fair maiden, Why? … Do you kiss that frog?
(instrumental interlude)
Through the awkward silence Under an azure sky Frog’s a croaking But did I lie I know it wasn’t perfect Things did go a bit awry While we’re about it Let’s have another try
And as the Prince canters off She’s sulks there on her log Feeling kind of foolish Outwitted by a frog. The moral of this story When times treat you rough Count your blessings They should be enough
Imagine if your home Was this smelly bog And you’re living as a frog.
