A Christmas Largo

Can you hear the sleigh bells ring
On this Christmas Eve
Joy they will bring
Under the tree

Children drift throughout the long night fitfully
Knowing what tomorrow will bring,

Where then did it all begin
A long, long time ago
Stranded in that little inn

Joseph and Mary
Had nowhere else to be

For her time had come
Heralded by a Heavenly glow
So as the whole world might know.

Shepherds in a lonely field
Watched in awe
Dazzled by all they saw
An Angelic Host up above
Calling out to them
Beckoning to rise
To rise
And follow to Bethlehem.

From lands far to the East
Guided by the Heavenly light
Three Magi came
On that Holy night.

And so, the Son of Man
Came to us that night
Among the gathering
Angels proclaimed the birth
A gift from Heaven to Earth

And on that first Christmas Day
There the baby Jesus lay
Not knowing what would be
Or aware of his destiny

And throughout all the ages
The Story has passed along
Through a blessed life
And His great sacrifice
Mankind could live free
Live Free

For all eternity.

And so, it is we have come
To rejoice this way
This way

On Christmas Day.
