As I Rode Down

(Instrumental intro)

As I rode on down
Riding into that ‘Honky Tonk’ town
My spurs were jingling
Along with the song I was singing
My guns were tied down
Ready for what might to go down
Spied a saloon
I was still whistling my tune
Swaggered on in
Ordered a whisky and gin.

A pretty girl
Settled on my arm
‘Honky Tonk’ played
She laid on her charm
I was looking for
Different action that day
And saw, huddled
The game I came here to play
Deal me straight in
I call the high card to win
Dealt a hand once around
Called, lay them down
From a Jack to a King
With loaded cards
Destined to win

I raked their money in
Stashed it away with a grin
Lit out of town
Leaving a void in the dust
As I knew I must
Knowing ‘What would go down’
Rode ‘till I finally found
Another lonely ‘bad assed’ town
And with the smile still on my face
I rode on down.
