Searching

Everyone is searching
Whether they know it or not
Perhaps they’re chasing shadows

A lifetime spent on searching
Exploring whatever lies ahead
A road sometimes long and lonely
Following wherever that long road led

(Brief interlude)

Some follow that road closely
Afraid where they might tread
Some go astray
And are lost along the way
While a few forge a path straight ahead
Searching for a new watershed
Those are the ones who travel far
In search of a bright new star

(Instrumental Interlude)

Always keep on searching
No matter what may be said
It’s not just about the journey
But what you may discover instead
Searching the world for answers
For they cannot always be read
Searching untll at last you’re content
Knowing yours was a life you well spent
Searching.
