A World Apart

(Instrumental intro)

Living in a world apart
Right from the very start
That’s how it all begun
Playing carefree in the Sun
A playground that had no boundaries
Just the sparkling sea
Foaming on the shore
Who could ask for more

Living life out of doors
Governed by no foreign laws
No reason at all we should depart
Leave our little world apart

And then ...
They said we should aspire to be ….
To become
A part of a modern society
Living in a big city
Milling crowds of humanity
All smothering me
Day after day

Living down by the sea
This is how it’s supposed to be
Nature provides it all
Gardens and the coconuts tall
The fishing good and the water full of delicacy

So why ....
Take it all away from me
My heritage
And my family legacy
And what use would it be
I have no need, can’t you see
When those simple things are free
And I am free

(Instrumental interlude)

I’m going back

No suit and hat

No more office rack

No chimney stack

So there will never be
A concrete jungle there for me
No never, not for me
Not while I’m free.
