Colour Your Mind

On a mundane Monday
Waking to a dull day
All around are shades of grey
And so through those pale greys
That consume the week days
I just work to collect my pay

But not on my fun day
And never on Sunday
The whole world out there
Wonderful and gay
And all it seems so boundless
The beauty that surrounds us

Painting the colours of my mind

(Instrumental interlude)

Hence from Monday
Right through to Sunday
I can draw on all the bright colours
That are locked away
For once ingrained there
Forever remain there

A new sensation any time of day
Aurora Borealis surrounds us
Replacing all those shades of grey
With colour supplanted
And never once started
Will they ever fade away

Not the colours of my mind

(Instrumental interlude)

It’s always such a pleasure
The music that we treasure
Playing as we while the time away
Diminuendo to crescendo
And colours with no end to
There Inside my mind …

Then through the night at slumber
And in spite of distant thunder
Drifting to another world
Where all our dreams are made
Made with all the wonder
From all the colours of your mind

The colours of your mind.
