A Christmas Odyssey

Sleigh bells ringing
Choir boys singing
Children sleeping under a bright star
The air is filled with expectation
No matter where you are.

(Instrumental interlude)

Waking early in the morning
Hoorah! It is Christmas Day
Sharing all those festive presents
Laid under a Christmas tree
Within the bosom of the family
What more should it be?

(Instrumental interlude)

Well, if you don’t know
It began long ago
One starry night
Some shepherds took fright
Stunned, for they saw an Angelic light
And from the East
Three 'Magis' came far
Guided they were
By a bright shining star.

(Instrumental interlude)

There they found a little baby
Unaware of his destiny
Lying peaceful in a manger
If only the world could see
Hear the Angels sing his Glory
A Saviour for you and me

Born to us the Son of Man
That we might be reborn again
And here began the timeless story ….
Now as we lay
Dawns a new Christmas Day
Imagine it all
What if He may
Come back again
To rejoin us today
With His message of love
For all humanity.

(Instrumental interlude)

Rising early Christmas morning
Reminded what it all means
Through His Grace and deprivation
We are blessed for all eternity
Hailed from Heavenly realms
Christmas Day, Christmas Day.

(Instrumental interlude)

So when you hear
Those sleigh bells ringing
And Santas on his way
Remember all, when on this morning
A precious child was born this day..
